(In an effort to keep you fully informed, and fully entertained, below we present today's FYI and TMI — news you need and news that's, well, sometimes needless….)

FYI …

Live Nation Reports 3Q Profit
Live Nation reported third-quarter revenue of $1.96 billion, up 9.7 percent from $1.79 billion during the year-ago quarter. Concert revenue grew 11.7 percent to $1.43 billion during the quarter, while ticket sales totaled 19.42 million, up from 18.3 million in the prior-year period. Though the concert division held fewer events in the third quarter of 2012 compared to the prior-year period, overall attendance increased to 15.8 million from 15.5 million.

Townshend's Onstage Blues, Rihanna Announces Tour News
Legendary rockers the Who kicked off their first tour in four years this month with a performance in Sunrise, Fla., that left guitarist Pete Townshend, and likely many in attendance, in a concert wasteland of sorts. The guitarist reportedly walked offstage during an encore performance of "You Better Bet" after appearing unhappy that the sound levels onstage were "too loud." Townshend, who has suffered from hearing loss, didn't return when the band continued into "Baba O' Riley." While Townshend can still pick up his guitar and play, it's not just like yesterday. In related touring news, Rihanna has announced she’s experimenting with concert pinball wizardry with her forthcoming 777 tour. The tour will see Rihanna performing seven concerts in seven days, beginning Nov. 14 in London and continuing on to Paris, Toronto, Berlin, a second stop in Paris, Stockholm, and New York. Rihanna will certainly find love in a lot of places this month.
