  • Born Christopher Maurice Brown on May 5, 1989, in Tappahannock, Washington
  • Chris Brown’s self-titled debut album peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The lead single from the album, "Run It!," topped Billboard 's Hot 100.
  • Brown received his first career nominations at the 49th GRAMMY Awards, including a nod for Best New Artist. That same year, he made his GRAMMY stage debut with a performance of his hit "Run It!" 
  • Brown made his silver-screen debut in 2007 alongside Ne-Yo in Stomp The Yard.
  • In 2012 Brown helped launch the Symphonic Love Foundation, a nonprofit that supports and creates art programs for youth.
