On March 26, K-pop band Monsta X released their video for the song "Jealousy." The video drop was timed with both their new EP The Connect: Dejavu, containing seven tracks of interesting co-write collaborations from the bandmembers, and their previously announced tour plans in the U.S. this summer.

The intensity of Monsta X expresses itself in a way distinct from many K-pop acts that have gained wide U.S. attention recently. Adding their Korean eclectic backgrounds to a meld between American rap, rock and pop, they bring a throbbing rhythmic bounce, lyrics hard enough to slide in raps at will, melodies pop enough to hold you, all with a rock edge as the greater context. The arm motions they explore relate to moves we've seen in other band's videos but Monsta X has an insistence on using their whole bodies to make these moves, a fun and dramatic mixture of elegance and power. The visuals on "Jealousy" leave several interpretations open but suggest gothic anime sagas and enjoying motorcycles and cars, all images which drive the narrative of the song with energy.
Billboard provides a worthy analysis of "Jealousy" and has been covering news of the Monsta X summer tour. The band's 2017 history on the World Albums chart had The Clan, Pt. 2.5 [Beautiful] peaking at No. 1 and The Code (EP) at No. 2.
Monsta X's summer tour stops begin in Chicago on July 20 and end in Los Angeles on Aug 3, hitting Newark, N.J., Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, and San Francisco in between.
