The biggest week in Latin music is here and The Latin Recording Academy will offer the most comprehensive, intimate view of the Latin GRAMMY Awards and its surrounding high-profile events to date.
Set for Thursday, Nov. 15 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, the XIII Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will air live on the Univision Network from 8–11 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central). At LatinGRAMMY.com, music fans will have the opportunity to follow the colorful events leading up to the telecast.
The always moving Special Awards Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 14 and will celebrate the careers of Juan Carmona "Habichuela," Luz Casal, Leo Dan, Rita Moreno, Milton Nascimento, Daniela Romo, Poncho Sanchez, Yomo Toro, and Toquinho. LatinGRAMMY.com will feature in-depth coverage of the ceremony, including video, photos and live blog.
Later on Wednesday, fans will have intimate access to photos and an inside look at the preparations for The Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year gala, which will celebrate Brazilian singer/songwriter Caetano Veloso. The festivities will include a star-studded concert featuring artists such as Lila Downs, Juan Luis Guerra, Juanes, and Alejandro Sanz, who will pay tribute to Veloso's musical legacy.
On Thursday, starting at 1:30 p.m. PT, LatinGRAMMY.com will host Latin GRAMMY en Vivo, which will feature live coverage of the XIII Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards and interviews from the green-carpet arrivals, the Pre-Telecast Ceremony, backstage, and the media center.
Univision will present exclusive "Noche De Estrellas" ("Night Of The Stars") coverage of the celebrity arrivals direct from the green carpet starting at 7 p.m. ET/PT (6 p.m. Central). Hosted by Univision Network personalities Giselle Blondet ("Nuestra Belleza Latina") and Galilea Montijo ("Hoy"), "Noche De Estrellas" will feature live interviews and commentary on the stars and their fashions.
