Legendary rock band The Velvet Underground will have their collection of live recordings The Complete Matrix Tapes released on vinyl for the first time ever on July 12.

The limited-edition eight-LP box features nine previously unreleased performances and recordings "mixed down directly from the original in-house multi-tracks, including the 18 tracks featured on a Super Deluxe Edition of the Velvets' third album," according to the band's website.
The set of songs was recorded in San Francisco's the Matrix in 1969 during their 18-night residency in the city. The box is available for pre-order now.
