(In an effort to keep you fully informed, and fully entertained, below we present today's FYI and TMI — news you need and news that's, well, sometimes needless….)

54th GRAMMY Telecast Garners TEC Awards Nod
The 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast has received a nomination for Outstanding Creative Achievement in the Remote Production/Recording or Broadcast category for the 28th Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards, to be held during the 2013 NAMM show on Jan. 25 in Anaheim, Calif. Additional nominees for Outstanding Creative Achievement include GRAMMY winners the Black Keys, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen, and Carrie Underwood, all of whom garnered multiple nominations in the Record Production/Single and Record Production/Album categories. Additionally, GRAMMY winner Pete Townshend of the Who will be honored with the TEC Foundation's Les Paul Award, which honors individuals or institutions that have "set the highest standards of excellence in the creative applications of recording technology." Record Plant President Rose Mann Cherney will be inducted into the TEC Awards Hall of Fame.

CBS Announces "Smells Like Teen Spirit" Sitcom
Here we are now, entertain us. CBS has announced a new sitcom bearing the name of one of '90s rock's most iconic songs, Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit," written by the late Kurt Cobain. The so-called "family sitcom" was created by Dave Goetsch ("The Big Bang Theory," "How I Met Your Mother") and tells the story of a teenager who skips out on a Harvard University education to launch a multibillion-dollar Internet company with his sister, best friend and indie-rock parents. Details on whether a Mark Zuckerberg lookalike will be cast as the lead character were not revealed, and Courtney Love has surprisingly remained expletive-free as of this report.
