About Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish: GRAMMY Awards History
At just 18 years old, Billie Eilish made history at the 2020 GRAMMY Awards as the youngest artist ever to sweep the Big Four in a single night — Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist. That night announced a once-in-a-generation talent unlike anything pop music had seen before.
Born in Los Angeles in 2001, Eilish began writing and recording music at home with her brother and primary collaborator, Finneas O'Connell. Her 2019 debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? produced global smashes including "Bad Guy" and "Therefore I Am," redefining pop with a dark, genre-bending sound and deeply introspective lyrics.
In 2023, she wrote and recorded "What Was I Made For?" for Greta Gerwig's cultural phenomenon Barbie. The song earned her an Academy Award for Best Original Song and two GRAMMY wins at the 2024 ceremony — becoming the first song from an animated-adjacent blockbuster to achieve that Oscar–Grammy double in the modern era.
Her third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft (2024), was met with universal critical acclaim and solidified her artistic evolution. Its standout track "Birds of a Feather" reached five-times platinum certification and became one of the defining songs of 2024.
With nine GRAMMY wins across 34 career nominations, Eilish remained a fixture at the 68th Annual GRAMMY Awards, earning a Song of the Year nomination for "Wildflower" in 2026. Two Oscars, nine GRAMMYs, record-breaking world tours, and an uncompromising artistic vision have cemented her as the most decorated young artist in GRAMMY history.
