After abruptly ending a performance in San Diego on Jan. 6, GRAMMY-winning country star Willie Nelson has cancelled his three remaining scheduled shows for January due to illness.

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, Nelson was coughing and experiencing difficulty breathing when he ended Saturday's performance partway into opening song "Whiskey River," and Nelson's publicist has since revealed that the 84-year old music icon is suffering from, "a bad cold or flu," and has returned home to Texas to recuperate.
Ticket holders for the San Diego show have already been refunded, and additional details regarding the possible reschedule of Nelson's scheduled appearances in Palm Springs, Las Vegas, and Laughlin, Nev., are still forthcoming. In the meantime, Nelson's three scheduled February shows remain listed on the singer's public tour calendar, and he is expected to return to the road with a Feb. 7 appearance in Georgia.
