Spotify has just committed to lifting up-and-coming artists on its streaming platform to new heights with its RISE emerging artists program.
Troy Carter, Spotify's global head of creator services, revealed the first four artists to participate in the program. They include R&B singer Lauv, pop artist Kim Petras, country singer Russell Dickerson, and rapper Trippie Redd.
The program will feature 16 artists per year, periodically adding new artists in batches of four.. Those hand-selected for the RISE platform will, according to Billboard, receive "preferential, mixed-media playlist placement and editorial programming" within Spotify as well as the opportunity to perform at exclusive live events and to be featured in TV ads.
"Spotify is committed to supporting the careers of artists of every level, including the next generation of global superstars," said Carter. "RISE is a powerful platform and an investment toward the future of emerging artists and the fans who discovered them first."
