For over three years now, a Nashville platform and community called Song Suffragettes has championed local female singer/songwriters. Now, they've released a timely new single, aptly titled "Time's Up," to raise awareness and funds to defend and protect women.

With a motto of "Let The Girls Play," Song Suffragettes provides various opportunities to women aspiring to make their mark in a male-dominated town and industry. Their mainstay event is a weekly showcase at The Listening Room in Nashville, featuring an all-female lineup of rising stars every Monday night.
The new single, "Time's Up," brings together 23 members of Song Suffragette to take a stand against discrimination and harassment, including the song's co-writers Kalie Shorr and Lacy Green, as well as former GRAMMY Camp participant Lena Stone. Proceeds from the single will benefit the Time's Up organization and legal defense fund started by women in entertainment to end harassment and abuse of women everywhere.

Over the three-year history of Song Suffragettes, more than 200 women have come through the program, which has has helped launch careers of up-and-comers like Shorr, who released her new EP, Awake, on Jan. 26, and Carly Pearce, who hit the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart last year with "Every Little Thing."
