Right after Pearl Jam's The Home Shows at Seattle's Safeco Field on Aug. 8 and 10, which will raise awareness and funds for the city's homeless, Seattle's Museum of Pop Culture will open the exhibit Pearl Jam: Home And Away on Aug. 11.

Pearl Jam's MoPOP career-spanning showcase will feature more than 200 of the band's artifacts across 28 years, adding to the efforts made at the PJ20 anniversary with original lyrics, instruments, stage sets, posters, and other art and memorabilia.
"This exhibition will give an intimate first-hand look at Pearl Jam's journey from 1990 to the present and into the future," said MoPOP Senior Curator Jacob McMurray. "From their beginnings as one of the originators of the 'Seattle Sound' and the grunge phenomenon, to their sustained global impact as one of the most popular and respected bands in the world, Pearl Jam's story is still unfolding as they continue to sell out shows worldwide and use their stage to further social and political consciousness."
The exhibition was organized as a collaboration between MoPOP, the band and their longtime official fan club, the Ten Club, and will remain open through early 2019.
This achievement adds to another of Pearl Jam's accomplishments this year, as guitarist Mike McCready will be honored with the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award for his long-term support of MusiCares and addiction recovery on May 10 at the Showbox in Seattle at the MusiCares Concert For Recovery. The concert's featured performers include Barrett Martin, Guns N' Roses' Duff McKagan and Slash, Mike Ness, Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith, and Heart's Nancy Wilson.
