Peter Morén, Björn Yttling and John Eriksson formed the group Peter Bjorn And John in Stockholm, Sweden in 2000 and gained global recognition in 2006 with the virally-catchy "Young Folks." They've been releasing infectious indie pop-rock on-and-off ever since, most recently with their eighth studio album Darker Days, in October 2018.

Today, the group revealed that they will be coming back to North America this spring to perform at more cities following a successful first leg of their Darker Days Tour. The also shared that they will drop a new EP, titled EPBJ, on Feb. 22.

A press release shared that the group ended the first leg of the tour with a sold-out show at the legendary and intimate Independent in San Francisco in December, and following the positive response, wanted to plot their U.S. return.

The second round of the tour will begin after they complete a handful of shows across Europe in February and March, and will kick off at the Foundry in Philadelphia on April 24. While more dates are likely to be added, the new, confirmed U.S. shows also include stops in Austin, Tex., Seattle and Portland, Ore.

EPBJ will give fans a taste of more new Peter Bjorn And John music in anticipation of their tour, featuring three new songs that were recorded during the same time as Darker Days, yet, as the press release says, "showcase a softer and more introspective side of the band." The EP, like the studio album, will be released by the trio's label, Ingrid.

Darker Days, with upbeat pop-infused songs like "Wrapped Around The Axle" and "Gut Feeling" as well as more mellow jams like "Velvet Sky" and "Dark Ages," is a treat in itself, and points to good things to come on their upcoming EP.
