On Sun., March 31, Coachella announced that Kanye West will be performing at this year's festival after all, bringing his "Sunday Service" jam session to Weekend 2 of the festival, on Easter Sunday at 9:00 a.m.

The fest tweeted out the announcement with a video clip of West sharing the news at what appears to be the latest edition of his weekly Sunday event.

The GRAMMY-winning rapper/producer hosted the first of his weekly music-filled "Sunday Service" events for his friends and family at the start of the New Year, Jan. 6. He performs with a sizeable group of musicians, including a gospel choir to elevate his songs new ("Lift Yourself") and old (2004's "Jesus Walks"), as well as a rotating cast of special guests, including hip-hop figureheads DMX, Kid Cudi and Tyler, The Creator.

The events so far have been exclusive to his friends, including a smattering of other celebrity guests like fashion photographer Nick Knight, David Letterman, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, and the extended Kardashian-West family. His wife, Kim Kardashian, has been creating buzz around the private events by sharing clips on her Instagram stories; there is also a mysterious "Kanye Sunday Services" IG account that also shares clips from the events, which include videos of the couple's daughter North West dancing.

The special Easter Sunday edition appears to be the first of Kanye's Sunday Service events opened up to the wider public. Exact details have not been released beyond the video clip, which reveals that the Service will take place on festival campgrounds at 9:00 a.m.

West had previously been believed to be returning to Coachella 2019 as a headliner for what would have marked his third time on the lineup. Earlier this year, in a January interview with the Los Angeles Times, Coachella Co-Founder Paul Tollett revealed that the rumors were true. "Up until Jan. 1, we were making a poster with Kanye on it. We started realizing we're probably going to have an impasse, production-wise," he said.
