The multi-talented Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino is set to host long-running sketch comedy show "Saturday Night Live" on May 5, joining a prestigious group of past entertainers to both host and perform, which includes Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Drake, and Lady Gaga.
Glover is coming off the 60th GRAMMY Awards where he won for Best Traditional R&B Performance for his hit "Redbone," in addition to recently earning two Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes for his acting work. He not only created and stars in the television show "Atlanta," but he's also the show's writer and director, making him more than qualified for the host gig at "Saturday Night Live."
Glover actually got his start as a writer for "30 Rock," which was a show about a sketch comedy show seemingly based at least in part on "SNL." Glover became a recognizable face and name with his role on the show "Community" about an oddball group of community college students before launching his musical career as Childish Gambino and his own show with "Atlanta."
The announcement was made during this past week's episode of "Saturday Night Live," which featured musical guest Jack White.
