Beyoncé's Saturday night headlining set at Coachella was the talk of weekend one. Now the GRAMMY winner has announced she's donating $100k in scholarship funds to be shared among four historically black universities.
The singer plans to donate four $25,000 scholarships to be awarded to one student each at Bethune-Cookman University, Tuskegee University, Xavier University of Louisiana, and Wilberforce University through the Homecoming Scholars Award Program for the 2018–2019 academic year as part of her BeyGOOD initiative.
During her now-historic Coachella set, Bey paid tribute to the marching bands, dance troupes, and step teams at historically black universities. Also, this isn't the first time she's contributed scholarship funds. In 2017 Beyoncé launched the Formation Scholars Awards Program in support of creative and bold young women.
Beyoncé will be heading out on the road with husband Jay-Z for their On The Run II tour, which will take them across the U.S. and Europe this summer.
