The rock world lost a true hero on Nov. 18 when AC/DC co-founder and rhythm guitarist Malcom Young died at age 64. Most likely in his honor, several of the band's most lasting songs have jumped onto Billboard's Hot Rock Songs, Hard Rock Digital Song Sales and Rock Streaming Songs charts.

Six classic AC/DC songs hit the Hot Rock Songs chart, including "Thunderstruck" (No. 6), "Back In Black" (No. 11), "You Shook Me All Night Long" (No. 15), "Highway To Hell" (No. 18), "T.N.T." (No. 23), and "Hells Bells" (No. 24), according to Billboard.
The band's iconic album, 1980's Back In Black, also became the Hard Rock Albums chart's greatest gainer, up 85 percent last week.
Young's signature driving guitar crunch shaped the band's highly influential style and sound and provided the perfect foundation for younger brother Angus Young's more theatrical lead guitar work.
An ongoing battle with dementia caused Malcolm to retire from AC/DC in 2014, and his nephew, Stevie Young, stepped in to take his place.
