The Black Eyed Peas first major hit was "Where Is The Love?," the lead single from their 2003 album, Elephunk. The group's follow-up album, 2005's Monkey Business, had an even greater impact, achieving multi-platinum sales and spawning four hits: "Don’t Punk With My Heart," "Don’t Lie," "My Humps," and "Pump It."
The Black Eyed Peas made their debut on the GRAMMY stage at the 46th GRAMMY Awards in 2004, teaming with Justin Timberlake to perform "Where Is The Love?"
Did you know? Black Eyed Peas members will i. am and apl.de.ap met as 8th graders in Los Angeles and were originally signed as a duo to Ruthless Records, the label run by N.W.A.'s Eazy E. Later the duo evolved into a group called the Black Eyed Pods before finally settling on the Black Eyed Peas.
The Black Eyed Peas established their own charitable organization, the Peapod foundation. In 2011, through the Peapod foundation, the group opened a music academy for teens in New York City.
