I loved the 12 years I spent working at the Recording Academy so much, that after 7 years away, I am now back and so excited to experience how much the organization has grown while retaining great people and keeping the mission to serve the music community at heart.

I arrived at the Recording Academy as a college intern over two decades ago. I had no idea that internship would become not only a career, but a family. I am so fulfilled that the support, mentoring, and growth opportunities the Academy has provided me, I am now able to give back to the Academy and our staff!

I am proud to play a small role in the Recording Academy's mission to take care of our music community and its creative professionals. It is quite fulfilling and gratifying to work for an organization that you whole-heartedly believe in and support.

I came to the GRAMMY Museum during a time of transition for the organization. Coming from the law firm industry, I had an inkling that working at the Museum would be a great pivot. It was during those first couple of years where I saw many opportunities to utilize my skillset. Between working independently and closely with departments, I was thrilled to be welcomed by a diverse team who are passionate about the Museum's mission. I have been able to learn new skills and have a deeper understanding of the organization. Now, I welcome new staff members and show why we do what we do. It's full circle!

I feel incredibly fortunate to work for the MusiCares Foundation (one of the companies that make up the greater GRAMMY Organization). Everything we do at MusiCares centers around our mission of helping music people, and it is incredibly rewarding to work for an organization that I trust will always put that mission first. This is in large part due to the amazing staff who make up the organization. In addition to taking care of the music community, MusiCares staff make sure to take care of one another — I have been lucky to receive guidance and mentorship from multiple staff members who have helped me develop my skills and further my career, with encouragement and kindness every step of the way.

I had the desire to work in the music industry but did not know where to start. It was not until I got my internship with the Recording Academy that I found a plethora of opportunities. The Recording Academy has a hand in all aspects of music so there is no shortage of involvement in the culture. Currently working in DEI, we have the power to create an inclusive industry by highlighting and uplifting underserved communities. The best impact is showing up and the Academy strives to do just that.

After a decade of working as a freelance artist, I am so glad that I chose to make the Recording Academy my home. My coworkers have become family, and we all share a similar passion and belief that music can change lives. It is rewarding to collectively open doors and break glass ceilings daily.
