- Born Anthony Cornelius Hamilton on Jan. 28, 1971, in Charlotte, North Carolina
- Hamilton came into prominence with his sophomore album, 2003's Comin' From Where I'm From. The hits "Comin' From Where I'm From" and "Charlene" helped launch the R&B singer/songwriter into stardom.
- Hamilton won his first GRAMMY for 2008 for Best Traditional R&B Performance for "You've Got The Love I Need."
- Did you know? Hamilton was a background vocalist for D'Angelo on his international tour in support of his 2000 album, Voodoo.
- Hamilton performed "Can't Let Go" at the 2008 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute gala honoring Aretha Franklin. The annual gala raises funds for MusiCares, which provides services and resources that cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal emergencies for music people.
- Hamilton has performed at a variety of charitable events, including Anthony Hamilton's Big Payback, a community service effort to raise awareness and money for homelessness, hunger, and education.
