During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Arizona-born singer/songwriter UPSAHL was stuck at her parents' house and had to find a way to continue vocal production for her songs at home. She discovered the Shure SM7B microphone and ended up using it to record all of the vocals on her EP, Young Life Crisis.
UPSAHL shares that she normally hates dealing with gear, as something almost inevitably fails while she's on tour and traveling across the country. "Stuff is always going wrong on stage, the playback isn’t working, the cable is shot," UPSAHL reveals. "The only piece of gear that has never let me down is this microphone."
