When Muse showed up to their first GRAMMY Awards in 2011, they had stiff competition in the Best Rock Album Category: Jeff Beck, Pearl Jam, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Neil Young. But despite being up against rock legends, the English trio came out victorious — and in frontman Matt Belamy's eyes, it was a "genuine surprise."
"It's an honor to be here with all the great artists that performed tonight and everyone who's won all the awards, it's very deserved," he continued. The band won for 2009's The Resistance; they took home Best Rock Album again in 2016 for their seventh LP, Drones.
