For Australian singer/songwriter and visual artist hannah bahng, capturing a transparent, intimate vocal sound is essential. After testing multiple preamps, she knew the VLC preamp from Hazelrigg Industries was the one. "I just wanted to sound the best vocally and as close and clear and transparent as possible to how I sound naturally when I sing."
Bahng, who released her debut The Abysmal EP in 2024 via her independent label Bahng Entertainment, found that the VLC added the perfect balance of depth, body and clarity to her vocals. "If I want to add some more high end, a little bit more air, then I can also do that," she says.
She also notes the fact that hers is the sixth unit ever made. "Six is a great number," Bahng says. "That makes me love it even more because I feel like it's a little special." For more episodes of It Goes To 11, visit GRAMMY.com/videos.
