At the 2016 GRAMMYs, Hamilton won Best Musical Theater Album, and Lin-Manuel Miranda took the stage in full costume to deliver a uniquely fitting acceptance speech — as a rap.
Miranda’s lyrical thanks included shoutouts to his musical influences (from The Roots to Jeanine Tesori), the cast, and his family, concluding with a touching message to his son: "Sebastian, Daddy's bringing home a GRAMMY for you."
