Though it was one of two awards Ed Sheeran won for "Thinking Out Loud" that night — it also took home Best Pop Solo Performance — his Song of the Year trophy was extra special because of the legend who presented his award.
Sheeran offered heartfelt thanks to his parents and his co-writer Amy Wadge during his time onstage.
