Five years after winning Album Of The Year at the 1971 GRAMMYs as part of Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Simon celebrated his own victory in the coveted Category for his classic Still Crazy After All These Years. On stage, Simon thanked his co-producer Phil Ramone as well as album collaborators Phoebe Snow and Art Garfunkel, then added a playful jab at a familiar GRAMMY rival.
"And most of all, I'd like to thank Stevie Wonder, who didn't make an album this year," Simon quipped — a lighthearted nod to the fact that Wonder had famously won Album Of The Year two years in a row before Simon's win. For more unforgettable GRAMMY Rewind moments, visit GRAMMY.com/videos.
