What better way to celebrate all the special moms out there on Mother's Day than with music? This year, rapper Trina is making it easy thanks to her latest single, "Mama," which features Kelly Price.

With the song's release on May 11, the Recording Academy was on set of the video shoot to catch all the action and get the behind-the-scenes scoop with the Miami-based artist and host/songwriter Charlie Travers.

"This video is called 'Mama,' it's featuring Ms. Kelly Price," Trina tells us. "It's about us and we just have these emotional, poetic, verses about this song. Basically, this song is dedicated to your mom and how much you admire her."

The soulful "Mama" will certainly serve as the perfect way for anyone to honor the special bond they have with their mom, but for Trina, the impetus for the song was personal.

"My mom was kind of sick when I was in the studio making this song and I was in a really down place," Trina reveals. "I was just in there recording one night finishing my album and I called her on the phone, she wasn't feeling so good, and so that inspired the song."

The addition of Price's signature vocals makes "Mama" even more special. Trina says that Price's appearance at her studio session was a surprise. After the GRAMMY-nominated R&B singer took a listen to several of the tracks slated for Trina's upcoming album, The One —  which will also feature 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne — Price singled out "Mama."

"She's amazing. I've been a fan of hers for so many years," Trina says of Price. "I'm in the studio recording my album and one of my friend guys, he was like, 'I'm going to stop by your session and come see you.' I was like, 'OK, cool.' And she come in. I was so just crazed out I just hugged her. … It was instant chemistry. I was just blown away."

As for celebrating your own "Mama," Trina offered a few words of advice.

"Respect, admire, love your mom," says Trina. "You only get one mom in the entire world. You can never, ever get another one. … No matter what happens, one only comes your way. That's a blessing."
