Rock and Roll queen and nine-time GRAMMY winner Tina Turner, who was honored in the recent "GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends" television special, is continuing to tell her own story in a variety of new ways. Now, 32 years after releasing her first autobiography, she's releasing a second autobiography, My Love Story, as she celebrates 60 years in the industry. The release comes months after a documentary, the first ever about her life, began filming this summer.

"At this point in my life, I've spent far more time without Ike than with him. Forty-two years, to be exact," music icon says in an excerpt of her latest autobiography published by CBS.

She continues: "That's a whole second life, one with adventures, accomplishments, and love beyond my wildest dreams. But there's also been a dark side. During the past few years, I've faced life-and-death challenges I never, ever expected. Let me tell you about my life."

In, My Love Story Turner details a physically abusive relationship with ex-husband Ike Turner, her relationship to her husband, Erwin Bach, including how he saved her life, a suicide attempt and how she coped with the death of her son.

Turner has led an astonishing life, from picking cotton in her hometown in Tennessee to reaching fame with songs like "Proud Mary" and "What's Love Got To With It" to surviving domestic violence.  In another excerpt published in the Daily Mail, Turner says dancing was her only pleasure during on point of her painful relationship with Ike Turner.

"Our three dancers — The Ikettes — and I spent so much time together on the road that we were like sisters. Dancing with them was sometimes my only pleasure," she wrote.

Recently her on stage legacy was honored by Sheléa on "GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends." Before she performed a medley of Turner's most enduring songs, Sheléa spoke to the Recording Academy about Turner means to her.

"She's so strong – and not trying to be strong, just innately strong," Sheléa said. "I love that strength and resilience, not only in her personal life but in her voice."

Turner's GRAMMY awards include Record Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female won at the 27th GRAMMY Awards and the Best Rock Vocal Performance at 31st GRAMMY Awards.
