Run DMC's Rev. Run will be returning to screens near you in a scripted comedy series from Netflix.

The Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award honoree will star as himself in the semi-fictionalized series, which follows his life post-rap career. The show will also star Run's wife, Justine Simmons. So far the series, written by Jeremy Bronson ("The Mayor," "Speechless"), has a 10-episode order and is still waiting on a title and premiere date.
This isn't the Reverend's first turn on TV. He starred in the 2005–2009 MTV reality series "Run's House" and he has also appeared in other reality shows such as "Rev Runs Around The World," "Rev Run's Sunday Suppers" and "Rev Run's Renovations."
In 2016 Run-D.M.C. — Joseph "Rev. Run" Simmons, Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels and Jason "Jam Master Jay" Mizell — became the first rap act to be honored with the Academy's Lifetime Achievement Award.
