When they're not out rocking out to signature tracks such as "Blink Of An Eye" or "Somewhere To Go," the Mrs — comprising drummer Andra Liemandt, bassist Jenny Mason, keyboardist/singer Larissa Ness, and guitarist/vocalist Mandy Prater — can usually be found spreading kindness. Look no further than their outstanding philanthropy effort at SXSW 2018, Kindnesspalooza, which benefits The Kindness Campaign.
The four-piece band was founded by Liemandt in their native Austin, Texas. Since then, the Mrs have been making music, including their 2017 debut self-titled album, they hope inspires other women.
"We are four women who want to be part of the change in the way other women see themselves," the band writes on their website. "We write songs to inspire the knowing in each woman that she is enough."
Liemandt, Ness and Prater visited with the Recording Academy at SXSW 2018 to play an installment of One Take, GRAMMY.com's fun series that features artists answering as many rapid-fire questions as they can about music, life and everything in between in just one minute.
In this episode, laugh along with the Mrs as they let us in on their favorite major city, the best part about their hometown, the coolness factor of vinyl versus cassettes, the last music book they read, the latest movie they saw, and more.
