Lead by outspoken, costume wearing Teri Gender Bender, Mexican garage punk rock band Le Butcherettes continue to gain fans for their bold, political lyrics and electrifying sound. The band from Guadalajara, Mexico, has also caught the attention of some serious rock veterans—they've toured with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and their last full-length album, A Raw Youth, was produced by GRAMMY winner Omar Rodriguez Lopez of The Mars Volta and At The Drive-In. Recently, the band sat down to play a round of One Take, GRAMMY.com's rapid-fire question game that challenges your favorite artists to see how many questions about life, music and everything in between they can answer in just 60 seconds.
In this episode, Le Butcherettes tell us the first album they ever bought, their favorite song to play live and how they would describe the legendary band, the Melvins. They also reveal the last song they thought was great, their favorite vegetarian dish and more.
Le Butcherettes are on tour and scheduled to perform in Chicago, St Louis. and more. For a full list of tour dates and other news, visit their website.
