Metallica are hardwired to get back on the road.
The GRAMMY-winning quartet has announced a new leg of North American dates for their WorldWide Tour, a jaunt in support of their latest studio album, 2016's Hardwired…To Self-Destruct.
Featuring 34 shows, including a mix of larger and smaller markets, Metallica will launch the leg on Sept. 2 in Madison, Wisc., with subsequent shows in State College, Pa.; Boise, Idaho; Fresno, Calif.; and Lubbock, Texas.
James Hetfield & Co. will also hit Nashville, Las Vegas, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh, among other cities.
The tour is scheduled to extend through the fall of 2018 into 2019, wrapping March 13, 2019, in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Comedian Jim Breuer, who is a longtime friend of the band, will open each show with a standup routine alongside a house DJ.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning March 2.
Hardwired…To Self-Destruct earned Metallica their most recent nomination for Best Rock Album at the 60th GRAMMY Awards.
