The GRAMMY Museum at L.A. Live is launching a new exhibit on Nov. 13 celebrating the life and creative output of one of Latin music's most influential artists: Colombian singer/songwriter Carlos Vives.

A two-time GRAMMY winner, as well as one of the winningest artists in Latin GRAMMY history, Vives pioneered the integration of indigenous and vallenato sounds from his home country into popular music.

"Carlos Vives helped shape the new Colombian and Latin American sound," says GRAMMY Museum Curator Nwaka Onwusa. "We are thrilled to share his incredible story with our visitors."

Included in the exhibit, which is titled DEEP HEART: Roots, Rock & The Music Of Carlos Vives, will be handwritten notes and lyrics from his acclaimed Latin GRAMMY-winning album Corazón Profundo; hand-painted props used in the music video for "La Bicicleta," his Latin GRAMMY-winning collaboration with Shakira; ​Vives' Latin GRAMMY Award statuette for Best Contemporary Tropical Album for El Rock De Mi Pueblo; and his GRAMMY Award statuette for Best Traditional Latin Album for Dejame Entrar.

"Carlos Vives has had an enormous impact on music both in Colombia and here in the United States," said Scott Goldman, GRAMMY Museum Executive Director. "While his work as a singer, composer, actor, and entrepreneur has touched millions, his commitment to music education as part of his Rio Grande music school continues to inspire future generations of music creators. We hope this exhibit will be just as inspiring.”

DEEP HEART: Roots, Rock & The Music Of Carlos Vives will remain on display through November 2018. To commemorate the exhibit's opening on Nov. 13, the GRAMMY Museum will host An Evening With Carlos Vive at the museum's Clive Davis Theater, featuring an intimate performance by Vives and discussion hosted by David Fricke, senior writer for Rolling Stone.

Tickets to An Evening With Carlos Vives are $35 and can be purchased by GRAMMY Museum Members and American Express cardholders beginning Thursday, Oct. 26 at 10:30 a.m. PST.
