"On Feb. 12, 2017 — exactly one year after winning my GRAMMY — I found myself undergoing my second vocal chord surgery in six months, and I was unsure if I'd ever come out of it … but I DID!" – So goes a handwritten letter posted by Meghan Trainor on Instagram announcing the release of her third album, which she calls her "best work yet."
Fans won't have to wait long, as a separate Instagram post promises the album's first single, "No Excuses" will drop March 1 at 8 a.m. ET. Anticipation for new music from the GRAMMY-winner is high, as Trainor has landed four Top 10 hits in her career, most recently in 2016 with her single "No," which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Continuing to stoke the blazes of excitement, Trainor has posted several brief snippets from the "No Excuses" music video, including short segments of the song, on Instagram. In the video, bright pastels backdrops, funky beat and catchy vocal line reveal that Trainor's unique combination of candid authenticity and pop sheen are back in play this time around.
And while Trainor did not reveal the title of her new album, the theme behind, "No Excuses," appears to encapsulate her battle to overcome life's challenges.
"There are NO EXCUSES," Trainor writes. "I'm gonna choose happiness … and I can't wait to show you what I've learned/created for this third album."
