Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover just won Record Of The Year for "This Is America." It is the fourth win of the night for Glover, as the track also won Song Of The Year, Best Music Video and Best Rap/Sung Performance.

Ludwig Göransson, who co-produced the album with Glover, along with engineers Derek "MixedByAli" Ali, Riley Mackin and Mike Bozzi also earned a win for their work on the track with Glover.

In the artist's absence, Ali and Göransson accepted the award and spoke on the group's behalf.

"No matter where you're born or what country you're from, you connect with 'This Is America,' it speaks to people, it connects right to your soul. It calls out injustice, celebrates life and reunites us all at the same time," Göransson said in his powerful speech.

Göransson, a Swedish-born, Los Angeles-based songwriter and producer is a long-time collaborator of Glover's, having worked on all three Childish Gambino studio albums, including the last LP, 2016's GRAMMY-nominated Awaken My Love.

Glover earned his first GRAMMY win at the 60th GRAMMY Awards, for Best Traditional R&B Performance for "Redbone," from Awaken, My Love! He  received his first GRAMMY nominations for Best Rap Album for his sophmore LP, Because The Internet, and Best Rap Performance for "3005," from the album, at the 57th GRAMMY Awards.

The big track beat out fellow Record Of The Year nominees: Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin ("I Like It"), Brandi Carlile ("The Joke"), Drake ("God's Plan"), Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper ("Shallow"), Kendrick Lamar and SZA ("All The Stars"), Post Malone and 21 Savage ("Rockstar"), Zedd, Maren Morris and Grey ("The Middle").

Ludwig Göransson's captivating composition for Oppenheimer has triumphed in the Best Original Score category at the 2024 Oscars.

Göransson's victory represents his exceptional talent and innovative approach to film scoring, as one of the youngest composers to ever receive the Best Original Score Oscar. It marks his second win in the category — he took home his first Oscar in 2019 for Black Panther. Göransson's work on Oppenheimer also won at the 2024 GRAMMYs for Best Score Soundtrack For Visual Media (Includes Film And Television).

Göransson's work stood out among the competition, going up against the scores of American Fiction, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Poor Things. His ability to convey deep emotional narratives and complex historical contexts through his scores has established him as one of the most innovative and sought-after composers in Hollywood.

Göransson's composition for Oppenheimer serves as the heartbeat of the movie, underpinning the film's exploration of the moral complexities and monumental impact of J. Robert Oppenheimer's work on the atomic bomb. Through his music, Göransson invites audiences into the internal and external conflicts faced by the "father of the atomic bomb," providing a sonic backdrop that is as thought-provoking as it is visceral.

The award was presented by fellow GRAMMY winners, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, who will star together in the Wizard of Oz big screen adaptation of the musical Wicked as Glinda and Elphaba respectively, premiering on the silver screen later this year. Speaking to the power of music to leave an indelible mark on the viewer through film, Grande said, "a great film score can leave a handprint on our hearts forever. It can ignite wonder and astonishment, make us feel sadness and longing and even transport us to new worlds." 

Göransson achieved just that. In his acceptance speech, Göransson thanked his colleagues,  and stars of the film for contributions to his distinctive vision. "Christopher Nolan, it was your idea to use a violin in the score and it allowed me to work and collaborate with my wonderful wife and acclaimed violinist, Serena Göransson," he said.

Göransson ended his speech by acknowledging his parents, "Thank you for giving me guitars and drum machines and not buying me video games."

2024 Oscar Nominees Who Have Won A GRAMMY: Billie Eilish, Martin Scorsese & More

Miley Cyrus has won Record of the Year at the 2024 GRAMMYs for her hit “Flowers.”

Accepting the award with her production team, Cyrus was irreverent and self-effacing, especially after having already won her first ever Golden Gramophone for Best Pop Solo Performance earlier in the evening.

“This award is amazing, but I really hope it doesn’t change anything, because my life was beautiful yesterday,” Cyrus said.

The pop singer beat out Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift, Jon Batiste, Dua Lipa, SZA, Olivia Rodrigo, and Billie Eilish for the award, which was presented by Mark Ronson and his mother-in-law, the actress Meryl Streep. “Flowers” was a massive commercial hit, debuting at Number One on the Billboard Hot 100 and spending eight consecutive weeks in the top spot.

As she finished her speech, during which she thanked her collaborators, their partners, and her fans, Cyrus said “I don’t think I’ve forgotten anyone, but I might’ve forgotten underwear.”

Shakira has had a massive year — so massive, in fact, that she's performing not once, but twice, at the 2023 Latin GRAMMYs.

For her performance, the Colombian superstar performed a moving rendition of her "Acróstico," which has been nominated for Song of the Year. Wearing a glittering gold high-cut gown adorned with an image of the Virgin Mary and clutching a rhinestone encrusted mic, she glided across the stage to a grand piano where her accompanist played along.

The Latin phenom maintained devastatingly regal bearing, even while conveying the tenderest love and most fragile emotion in the pop ballad, which is directed at her two children Milan and Sasha. The telecast included clips of Milan and Sasha, who are featured on the track.

Latin pop's reigning queen first reconfirmed her claim to the throne in early January, when her collaboration with Argentinian DJ and producer Bizarrap lit the internet on fire. "Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53" — a scorched-earth rebuke to Shakira's ex — earned Shakira her first top 10 hit on the Billboard 200 in over 16 years, landing at No. 9 in January.

Less than two months later, Shakira scored another top 10 hit thanks to "TQG," her reggaeton collab with fellow Colombian juggernaut Karol G. Along with reaching No. 7 on the Hot 100, the track hit No. 1 on Billboard's Global 200 and Hot Latin Songs charts. 

"TQG" earned Shakira her first win of the night before the 2023 Latin GRAMMYs telecast began, as it was awarded Best Urban Fusion/Performance in the Premiere Ceremony. The smash collaboration also received nominations for Song Of The Year and Best Urban Song. 

"Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53" marked the first win of the 2023 Latin GRAMMYs telecast, taking home Best Pop Song. It also received Latin GRAMMYs nominations for Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year; the latter category also includes her single "Acróstico."
