Carrie Underwood has maintained a pretty low profile since she had an accident at home last November that resulted in a broken wrist and 40 stitches on her face. Now it appears the GRAMMY winner is on the mend and ready to get back in the game.

In an April 10 letter to fans, Underwood gave a status update on what she's been up to. Not only did she assure fans she's healing well, but she revealed there's new music to look forward to soon. Underwood shared she's been in the studio working with writer/producer David Garcia on what will be her sixth studio album, a process she described as "very fulfilling and empowering."

We'll get to hear a taste of what "The Champion" singer has up her sleeve on April 11 when her latest single, "Cry Pretty," is released. Underwood co-wrote the song with country songwriting mainstays Hillary Lindsey, Liz Rose and Lori McKenna. She will debut the single live in her first public appearance since her accident at the Academy of Country Music Awards this weekend.

"The title refers to when emotions take over and you just can't hold them back," Underwood wrote about "Cry Pretty." "It really speaks to a lot of things that have happened in the past year and I hope when you hear it, you can relate those feelings to those times in your life. It's emotional. It's real. And it rocks!"
