If you're looking for a little inspiration for your own songwriting, what could be better than composing songs on the very same piano singer/songwriter Carole King used to write hits such as "Been To Canaan" and "Sweet Seasons"?

The GRAMMY winner's personal "M" Steinway grand piano will be hitting the auction block during Christie's Exceptional sale in New York. The beautiful 1924 piano has been with King for decades, first at her home in Los Angeles and then at her ranch in Idaho.
In their video announcement for the auction, Christie's featured Broadway musical "Beautiful" actress Chilina Kennedy performing "Beautiful" while highlighting King's importance to musical culture.
"She really is the embodiment of that 1960s and '70s movement of collaboration," Kennedy said. "She truly [is] a natural woman, as she's true to herself, and I think women need those kinds of role models today, now more than ever."
For those interested, the piano is on display to the public from April 12 through the date of the auction, April 20, at Christie's Rockefeller Galleries. Experts expect the piano's sale will net $40,000–60,000.
