Today, British indie electro-rock group Bloc Party announced they will be bringing their Silent Alarm Tour to the U.S. for six special concerts this fall. The tour celebrates their debut album, 2005's Silent Alarm, which they will play in full, and marks their first U.S. shows in four years.
The Silent Alarm U.S. Tour begins on Sept. 16 in Washington, D.C., followed by a show in Philadelphia the next day, and then one at Boston's House of Blues on Sept. 19. They will perform in New York City at the Central Park SummerStage on Sept. 20, then close things out on the West Coast on Nov. 19 and 20, in Los Angeles and San Francisco, respectively.
Bloc Party consists of founding members Kele Okereke and Russell Lissack, plus Louise Bartle and Justin Harris, who joined the group in 2015 following the other two founding members' departure. The U.S. shows follow a successful Silent Alarm Tour in Europe in October 2018 and Australia the following month. During the tour, they recorded Silent Alarm Live, which is currently slated for a May 17 release date.
"We play Silent Alarm, then do a run through of b-sides and lesser known songs from that era, and then just some of the more well-known songs from across the back catalogue. It's almost like two sets. You still need to have a bit more than just the album, and it seems to be working pretty well," founding member/lead guitarist Russell said in an interview last November.
