No stranger to roof-raising live performances, Beyoncé checked off a bucket-list performance for the ages when she teamed with the legendary Tina Turner at the 50th GRAMMY Awards. It not only marked a special moment for Queen Bey, but represented a true passing of the torch moment.
"Things that you always dream of, and you just think are so far away it's never gonna happen," says Beyoncé about her moment with Turner. "When I was a kid and I saw her tapes, I wanted to be like her."
Another incendiary Beyoncé moment that stands out — even to her peers — was her performance with Prince for a special medley that included "Crazy In Love" and "Let's Go Crazy" at the 46th GRAMMY Awards.
"I wanted to be on that stage so bad," says Alicia Keys. "I was like, 'Why didn't they call me for this one?'"
Yet another see-it-to-believe-it moment came at the 44th GRAMMY Awards when Pink, Christina Aguilera, Mya, Lil' Kim, and Missy Elliott performed "Lady Marmalade" from Moulin Rouge! The congregation had more than enough star power but there was a special surprise that took things up another notch.
"In true GRAMMY fashion, [we brought] out the incredible icing on the cake, Miss Patti LaBelle herself," says Aguilera.
