In most cases, you should hear back from us within 2 weeks. However, sometimes this process can take longer if we need additional information from you or if we experience a high volume of applications.
There is a one-time membership fee of $50 which includes four years of membership.
After your membership expires, you will have the option to apply to renew, which is $50 annually.
You will be notified before your membership ends to renew. You will then be able to log in to your account and proceed through our renewal process.
If an eligible Grammy U member lets their renewal option lapse, they will not be able to join again and must wait to apply for Voting or Professional membership once applicable.
If you have questions about our renewal process, please contact grammyu@grammy.com.
Answer.
Grammy U is a one-time membership, after which point we encourage alumni to apply for Voting or Professional membership.
The new renewal option is available to those whose active memberships are about to expire or are within one year of expiration.
All Grammy U members are invited and welcome to attend our events and programming and have access to all the same member benefits. There is no difference between these two types of memberships.
Grammy U offers amazing masterclasses, exclusive conferences, behind-the-scenes studio tours, and artist SoundChecks in cities across the nation! We provide both annual national programs and smaller scale local events to both types of memberships. For all national program and select local programs, there is a virtual component for global members to tune in.
Once your four-year membership expires with us, you will have the option to apply for membership renewal annually. This is a good time to evaluate your career and determine if you’re ready to take the next step in your Academy journey and apply for Voting or Professional membership.
You can also apply for Voting or Professional membership at any point during your Grammy U membership.
If you have questions about this transition and/or how to become a Voting or Professional member, you can either email grammyu@grammy.com or membership@grammy.com.
We do not offer dual membership with the Recording Academy or the Latin Recording Academy at this time.
You can apply for Voting or Professional membership while you are still an active Grammy U member. However, if you are accepted for either membership at the Recording Academy or Latin Recording Academy, your Grammy U membership will be terminated.
If you are interested in applying for Voting or Professional membership, please find more information here: https://www.grammy.com/membership/.
The Recording Academy offers three types of membership. Voting Membership for recording creators, Professional Membership for music businesspeople, and Grammy U for the next generation beginning their career in the music industry.
