About the Memphis Chapter

The Memphis Chapter was established in 1973, during the height of the Memphis Sound. The Chapter covers a wide region, inclusive of the western part of Tennessee (where Memphis lives) and the 4 great states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Missouri -  the birthplace of Blues, Jazz, R&B, Bounce, Cajun, and Zydeco music, to name a few. Home to legends like B.B. King, Al Green, Maya Angelou, Sweet Emma Barrett, Isaac Hayes, Dr. John, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Allen Toussaint, Mahalia Jackson and Elvis Presley; modern nominees include Jon Batiste, PJ Morton, Glorilla, SZA, Trombone Shorty, Justin Timberlake, Lost Bayou Ramblers and Tank & The Bangas.

Please take a few minutes and explore not only what the Memphis Chapter is doing, but what all the Chapters have to offer in the way of professional development and opportunities for our members.
