Diller To Exit Live Nation
Barry Diller will resign as board chairman of concert promoter Live Nation, according to a report in The Hollywood Reporter. While sources have pointed to a clash between Diller and fellow board members, including Liberty Media head and major Live Nation stockholder John Malone as the reason for his exit, Diller said in a statement, "I have always said, since the merger of Ticketmaster and Live Nation, that I only planned to stay as chairman through the transition and integration of the two companies." The effective date of the resignation was not disclosed. (9/29)

Billboard To Honor Johnson, Rush
Billboard will honor GRAMMY-nominated artist Jack Johnson and GRAMMY-nominated rock band Rush with the Humanitarian Award and Legend of Live honor, respectively, at the 2010 Billboard Touring Awards in New York on Nov. 4. The Legend of Live award honors groups or individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to live music and the touring business, while the Humanitarian Award recognizes the philanthropic efforts of a touring artist. Previous Legend of Live award recipients include the Allman Brothers Band, Elton John and Ozzy Osbourne, and previous Humanitarian Award recipients have included Dave Matthews and Jon Bon Jovi. Hispanic Heritage Foundation Honors Guerra, Sanz
Nine-time Latin GRAMMY winner Juan Luis Guerra and 14-time Latin GRAMMY winner Alejandro Sanz will be honored by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation for their "Hispanic excellence, accomplishments and promise" at the Hispanic Heritage Awards on Sept. 29 in Washington, D.C. Additional honorees include actress America Ferrera, Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) and a posthumous award for educator Jaime Escalante. The evening will include performances by Belinda, JenCarlos Canela and Luis Enrique. (9/29)
