- The first single from their sophomore album, Some Nights, "We Are Young," was Fun.'s first No. 1 hit. Some Nights sold 3 million copies in the United States and was nominated for two GRAMMYs.
- At the 55th GRAMMY Awards in 2013, Fun. won Best New Artist and its members won Song Of The Year as individual songwriters for "We Are Young" with Janelle Monáe. The group also performed "Carry On" during the telecast that same year, making their GRAMMY stage debut.
- Jack Antonoff dated actress Scarlet Johansson for a year when the pair were high school students.
- The band performed a private show for Washington, D.C., GRAMMY U students and answered questions during a SoundChecks event in 2012.
- Fun. started the Ally Coalition, which supports more than 50 local organizations that help LGBTQ youth. The band also supported Mainers United, Maine's campaign for marriage equality, in 2012.
