What does it take to throw a concert? From the DJ and live band to the venue and the onstage visuals and even down to wardrobe, you love to watch your favorite artists live, but what goes into making the spectacular sets and intimate vibes? How much does an artist prepare to deliver an experience?
Los Angeles-based rapper Nipsey Hussle takes us behind the scenes of his Victory Lap Tour in New York City's Irving Plaza to give us a picture.
"My intention is to raise or elevate the experience of what you get from a Nipsey Hussle concert," he says in the new docu-series from the Recording Academy. "I wanted people to appreciate the production, I wanted people to appreciate the preparation and appreciate the night as an experience."
For Hussle's show, it comes down to using both a live band and a DJ, the cost of a video wall, the amount of time he takes to do his sound check, the chains he decides to rock and more. #NoCover lets you see his live show vision, the celebration he tops it off with to celebrate the hard work that went into it and tallies the cost of it all.
"You don't want to be locked-in and miss a moment, if there's a moment that can raise the intensity of the night, deliver on everybody's expectations and be entertained, you wanna be able to catch those moments," he said.
This is what Nipsey Hussle was born to do, so watch how he brings it to life in #NoCover.
