In 1967 the Moody Blues rode the new wave of stereo vinyl and FM radio to prominence as their now-classic album Days Of Future Passed became an unexpected hit. Now, 50 years later, an orchestral live performance on July 7 in Toronto will be broadcast on PBS' "Great Performances."

"Nights In White Satin" from the album was later released as a single and inducted into the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame in 1999. It is one of the iconic rock masterpieces that became part of the soundtrack of millions of lives, often attached to sweet memories. Many will want to relive some of those memories both on TV and by going to the Moody Blues' 2018 tour.
As an added treat, Jeremy Irons provided the narration at the live event, lending appropriate majesty to the phrase, "We decide which is right and which is an illusion." The psychedelic 60s were full of youth posing this question about the world they lived in and seeking out what ambitions they wanted for themselves. For today's youth experiencing this for the first time, it's a window back to when the 60s Rock revolution changed the future to create the present reality.
The Moody Blues 2018 tour begins in January and The Moody Blues: Days of Future Passed Live is now airing on PBS.
