Producer Alissia is a music lover in the truest sense of the term. Any artist who has worked with Bootsy Collins, Cee Lo Green, 21 Savage and Anderson .Paak would naturally fall in love with the studio, but Alissia's admiration for music is deeper than the talent she works with.
"Music always had a really important role in my life," Alissia shares. "I'm not great at talking. I feel like music is a better way to express myself."
Watch the below episode of Behind The Board to hear what Alissia has to say about her early collaborations with 2019 GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award winner Bootsy Collins, the lessons she picked up from Anderson .Paak and which decade of music influenced her sound.
Despite sharing the studio with several GRAMMY winners, the musician/producer doesn't view big-name collaborations as the key to a fulfilling track. True to her overall view toward music, the Berklee graduate digs deeper than name-value when determining a successful song.
"To me what makes a great record is when you did it from your heart like you really felt it," Alissia explains. "At the end of the day, music is feeling. There's no competition. Everybody has something different to bring to the table."
