Kirk Franklin Praises Gospel Legend Shirley Caesar

GRAMMY winner Franklin previews his "GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends" tribute to the gospel icon Caesar.

Kirk Franklin is not only a GRAMMY-winning peer of Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Shirley Caesar, he's a big fan himself. Franklin is scheduled to pay tribute to the gospel icon with a special performance on "GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends."

"I picked songs that I felt first of all would really flow together, work well together and would kind of give the breadth of her musical career," says Franklin about his performance.

Caesar is among the Special Merit Awards recipients set to be honored during "GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends," a two-hour TV special airing on PBS on Oct. 13 at 9 p.m.
