GRAMMY In The Schools Web Site Launched
The GRAMMY Foundation announced today the launch of the GRAMMY in the Schools Web site, an informative, behind-the-scenes resource designed to expose high school and college students, as well as pre-professionals, to the variety of exciting careers in the music industry. In addition to showcasing the GRAMMY Foundation's education programs, the site features video interviews with music industry artists and professionals, such as Kanye West, David Foster, Jimmy Jam and John Alagia; links to online resources, including degree programs in music and related business fields; and specific steps to take in preparation for a career in music.
"We're committed to elevating the importance and awareness of music education and our Foundation programs through GRAMMYintheSchools.com," said Recording Academy and GRAMMY Foundation President Neil Portnow. "Today's youth are the music makers of tomorrow, and we want to ensure they have all the tools, resources and guidance to prepare for a successful career in the industry."
Under the banner of GRAMMY in the Schools, the GRAMMY Foundation achieves its goals in music education through Careers in Music, GRAMMY Signature Schools, GRAMMY Pro Sessions, Gibson/Baldwin GRAMMY Jazz Ensembles, GRAMMY Camp, and GRAMMY SoundCheck.
