Positive Vibes Only: Stephen Stanley Surrenders His "Reckless Heart" In This Performance Of "Whatever It Takes"

Christian rocker Stephen Stanley is ready to turn his heart over to a higher power on his vulnerable hit "Whatever It Takes."

GRAMMYs/Sep 18, 2023 - 05:01 pm

Stephen Stanley knows the struggle it takes to turn his heart over to a higher power. The Christian rocker's latest viral hit "Whatever It Takes" details just how far he's willing to go, even as he's plagued by self-doubt, slow progress and past transgressions.

"'Cause I've been reckless with my heart, no/ I'm falling apart, I don't wanna be the same/ I need you to be the change/ I surrender all I am, I know I've made mistakes/ But the past will wash away/ I'll do whatever it takes," he vows in his trademark throaty growl over tenacious power chords.

In this episode of Positive Vibes Only, the Capitol Christian Music Group signee delivers a powerful performance of his latest single, which begins in dreary grayscale before being injected with punchy splashes of color as he arrives at the song's triumphant bridge.

"Whatever It Takes" is featured on Stanley's debut full-length Divided Frame of Mind, which also includes previously released fan favorites like "Rest In The Father," "The Heat" and "Note to Self" featuring Riley Clemmons.

On the album, the singer isn't afraid to face his demons and dive into the realities of mental health struggles and internal anguish. As he explained in a press statement, "Sometimes you have to go to that dark place to find the light."

On the lead single from his new album, "Firm Foundation (He Won't)," contemporary worship singer Cody Carnes finds solace in his relationship with Jesus Christ, even during the most unprecedented times.

GRAMMYs/Aug 27, 2023 - 01:12 pm

The past few years have been anything but ordinary. But even in the height of mayhem, contemporary worship singer Cody Carnes has leaned on Jesus. If anything, his faith and comfort in God — the "Firm Foundation" in his life — have only gotten stronger.

"I've still got joy in chaos/ I've got peace that makes no sense," Carnes sings in the first verse of "Firm Foundation (He Won't)." "So, I won't be going under/ I'm not held by my own strength/ 'Cause I build my life on Jesus/ He's never let me down."

In this episode of Positive Vibes Only, Carnes delivers a stripped-down performance of "Firm Foundation" from an open field at dusk.

"Firm Foundation," which he originally released in 2021, inspired his upcoming live album of the same name, which just arrived on Aug. 25. On Instagram, Carnes revealed, "These songs were written in uncertain times in the last few years, but they contain the certain hope of Jesus."

Later this year, Carnes will join his wife, Kari Jobe, and Christian rock musician Martin Smith on The Blessing Tour through Europe. The shows will begin on Oct. 20 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and end on Nov. 19 in Stockholm, Sweden.

Positive Vibes Only: Anna Golden Goes From "Glory To Glory" During This Empowering Performance Of Her New Track

Christian singer Anna Golden praises God for uplifting her potential in this performance of "Glory to Glory," a B-side from her newest album, 'Church (Live).'

GRAMMYs/Aug 20, 2023 - 05:26 pm

As a child, Christian singer Anna Golden spent her days in and out of audition rooms trying to get her big break — until she realized the spotlight (and its pressure) wasn't her calling.

"I loved leading worship because none of the attention was on me — all the glory is directed to God," Golden revealed in a press statement. And on her new song, "Glory to Glory," that proud, unwavering appreciation for God is front and center.

"There's so much more than we have seen/ You said through us, You'll do greater things," Golden declares in the second verse. "A fresh revival, there's a beckoning/ We've been here a while, and it's just the beginning."

In this episode of Positive Vibes Only, watch Golden deliver an encouraging performance of "Glory to Glory," receiving additional support from a choir as she delivers her testimony to a live audience.

"Glory to Glory" is a B-side from Golden's latest album, Church (Live) — which arrived Aug. 11 via TeeLee Records, an imprint of Motown Gospel owned by GRAMMY Award-winning singer Tasha Cobbs Lenoard.

On Sept. 7 and 8, Golden will perform two shows in Missouri at gospel musician Todd Galberth's Encounter Nights.

Through thick and thin, worship singer Vincent Bohanan turns to God for everything, as he reveals in his newest single, "I Love To Call Him." But it's not only because God answers his prayers — he enjoys doing it because, in his eyes, God is great in all aspects.
