Herb Alpert To Honor Hal Blaine During "GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends"

The GRAMMY-winning trumpet player pays tribute to the iconic drummer during a concert celebrating the Recording Academy's 2018 Special Merit Awards recipients that will air on PBS on Oct. 5

Hal Blaine's talent is indisputably everywhere as the percussion behind the most iconic sounds of '60s U.S. pop culture, including Simon And Garfunkel's "Mrs. Robinson" and the Carpenter's "Top Of The World." On the upcoming "GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends," Blaine, a Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement recipient, will be honored by GRAMMY-winning trumpet player Herb Alpert of Herb Alpert And The Tijuana Brass. In honor of Blaine, Alpert will perform his song "Taste Of Honey," which originally featured Blaine on drums.
