The DJ/producer shares the yearlong journey to perfect his latest single, his approach to remixing a track and how his remix hobby led him to the music industry.

DJ and producer Gryffin started building a fan base in 2014, by releasing feel-good dance remixes by artists like GRAMMY nominee Tove Lo and GRAMMY winners Maroon 5, but he didn't always plan on pursing music. Shortly before that, while still in college, he started making remixes for fun, which caught the attention of record labels who wanted him to remix their artists' songs. Fast forward to 2018, and the young artist has turned a passion project into a career, with plenty of popular remixes under his belt as well as several original tracks, including his latest single, "Tie Me Down." We sat down with Gryffin backstage at Austin City Limits Festival to learn more about the new single, his approach to making remixes and how he got his start.
